Croatian Shrine Vepric
VEPRIC, sanctuary dedicated to Our Lady of Lourdes. The natural cave as well as the surrounding landscape formed by hills and the creek running in the valley, greatly reminds pilgrims of the famous sanctuary of Lourdes in France, where Our Lady appeared 18 times to Bernadette Soubirous in 1858. Because of its natural beauty and peaceful surroundings, this sanctuary is visited by a great number of pilgrims through the whole year. The most important dates for pilgrimages are: February 11th, March 25th, August 15th, September 7-8th.

Mountain Biokovo
You can take the minibus to the top of the mountain, and from there it's a short walk to the peak St. Jure. You can also take an excursion which includes five hour walks through thick pine forests and slopes where you can spot wild goats and sheep. Mountain of Biokovo which rises above Podgora, offers endless opportunities for walks. The highest peak is St. Jure (1762m). Bring enough water with you. Another popular excursion spot is Botanical garden, near Makarska, close to village Kotišina that can be reached by marked paths from Makar.
Krka

Malacological museum in Makarska
MALACOLOGICAL MUSEUM IN MAKARSKA displays the shells of sea moluscs. This museum resulted from the systematic and self-sacrificing work of the theologian and natural scientist Fra Jure Radic and the support and cooperation of many people, scholars, museum workers, collectors, and especially his faithful colleague Fra Franjo Carev. There are more than 3000 samples of exposed shells not just from the Adriatic sea but also tropical and subtropical seas and are attractive because of their specific colors and shapes.
